Adam Bertholet, 47, a devilishly handsome man with the biggest heart, emotional, passionate and a special man with an authentic soul. Irresistibly charming, slightly reckless. At his best, a man with a paradox of natural talents. A natural artist with skills in business, design, sales, management and finance packaged with, self-admittedly, a few bad habits.

In the beginning Adam finds himself in crisis. Recently unemployed, in self-discovery, recovering from a life of traumatic relationships and a broken heart, close to losing faith in all as he feels his dreams crashing, finding himself in a mid- life crisis. Terrified to trust himself and others in fear to break his or anybody else’s heart.

Unconsciously seeking stability, Adam meets Cyndi, a woman who embodies his ideal partner: A dream come true, unpretentious, athletic, logical, with a punk rock/artistic side. Her indisputable beauty is hidden behind her intelligence, a infinitely loving heart and soul. Cyndi represents the peace and stability Adam needs to heal and move on from his trauma and tragic past. The narrative is about Adam's journey to overcome his past. His love for Cyndi forces him to make better choices and to find a new, stable future with the woman he has always dreamed of.

Scene 1: Elevator, 4th and J Apartments

Adam, bending down to pet dogs: "...are you a dog walker?"

Cyndi: "No, these are both my dogs."

Doors open. Cut to-

Scene 2: Sidewalk, 3rd Ave., Marina District San Diego

Cyndi, running in a slight panic: "My dog ate my phone!”

(Running in hot pursuit of a replacement phone before the store closes as she is expecting a very important phone call)

Adam: sympathetic, thinks to himself, Dog ate my phone??: “Um ok. I have 4 phones, you’re welcome to one if you don’t make it ?"

(She stops then walks, rotates. and stares at Adam, then runs rapidly away with a smile, questioning….4 phones who needs 4 phones!?! Flattered yet mildly suspicious.)

Scene 3: Hallway, 4th and J Apartments

Cyndi frantic in hallway returning from mailroom.

Adam: walking to mail room runs into Cyndi: Hello, I was just at your door!"

Cyndi: "OMG The IRS says I owe them over $6000! "

Adam: "Oh no! Do you? No! well I might have a solution. Come join me at the whiskey bar!"

Adam, walking away, away thinks to himself, I am not the only one experiencing a little craziness!

Cyndi ponders the invitation as she sits with her dogs, slightly intrigued yet still a bit suspicious as she laughs to herself and recalls her own first impressions running into Adam.

Scene 4: Whiskey Bar

Cyndi walks in, finds Adam siting alone, talking to bartender, chomping on chicken wings in front of a tall glass of whiskey.

Cyndi: Taps Adam on shoulder, “Is this seat taken?” then sits down to join him.

Adam: Smiles, immediately attracted to her. He is caught somewhat off guard and unprepared. “Please share my chicken wings?”

Cyndi: "Oh no thank you, I'm vegan."

Adam once again feeling awkward as he recognizes he is chomping BBQ chicken wings in front of an animal loving vegan.

Adam: Well, Can I buy you a drink?

Cyndi: without hesitation “I really don’t drink much”

Adam once again feeling awkward as he now realizes he was chowing down on chicken wings, sipping a glass of whiskey next to a non-drinking animal loving vegan?!

Adam: His racing mind thinks to himself “Great first impression.” Adam's eyes open wide, his brow raises as he slowly drops his chicken bone and tries cleverly to slide the plate of wings out of site from Cyndi. Adam sips the last of his whiskey, gently wipes his face of BBQ sauce, raises his hand and kindly calls the bartender by name: “John, can I get two waters and the check please?” Smiling at Cyndi...

And the rest was history....
